Patterns of Dysmenorrhea and Self-management Strategies among University Students

Objective: To explore the frequency of dysmenorrhea, its characteristics and impact on university students' education their coping behaviours. Study Design: Descriptive cross-sectional study. Place Duration Study: The Main Campus, AlHawiyya Taif University, Saudi Arabia from 1st October 2020 to 31st December 2020. Methodology: Three hundred eighty students were enrolled. Data was collected via a self-reported electronic questionnaire. required information grouped into three sections, section A about socio-demographic data, B details dysmenorrhea like onset, duration, severity, presentation, effect studies, C strategies recorded. pain severity scored Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). Results: 72%. Low backache 55.7% nervousness 47.2% most frequent somatic affective symptoms, respectively. had significant association while BMI no with dysmenorrhea. Conclusion Dysmenorrhea is highly prevalent health issue negatively students’ performance.
